Are you getting the right insulation?
It’s likely not. According to a recent study, 90 percent of American homes lack sufficient insulation. The Boston University School of Public Health found that if every house in the country were properly insulated according to current building codes, it would reduce electric consumption by 37 million kilowatts. This is enough electricity to power approximately 3.4 million homes in America every year. Our Insulation here at Goldstar could save you tons!

Spray Foam Insulation
One-Step Insulation & Sealing for Homes & Commercial Buildings
Spray foam, a spray-applied plastic, insulates buildings. It seals cracks and gaps effectively. This makes the building more comfortable as well as energy-efficient. Spray foam insulation is heat-resistant and can reduce unwanted air loss through cracks, seams, and joints.
Attic Spray Foam Insulation Benefits:
- Barrier against moisture
- No matter what season, comfort and better air quality are guaranteed
- Sound control
- Monthly energy bills that are lower
- Optimal energy efficiency
- It does not lose effectiveness with time
- Adds strength to floors, walls, and ceilings

Lower Energy Costs
The right insulation is crucial to your comfort, whether you are building a new house or renovating an existing one. Inefficient insulation can lead to heating and cooling expenses that are up to 40% higher!

Environmental Design
Do not waste your precious energy. Spray foam is both energy efficient and sustainable!
Spray Foam Insulation Vs. Traditional Insulation
Depending on which type of spray foam is used (closed-cell or open-cell), the foam expands 40 to 100 times to fill every corner in your building’s envelope. This provides thermal insulation and effective air sealing. Traditional insulation won’t fill the gaps and leak warm air into your home.

Loose insulation
What is Loose Insulation?
Loose-fill insulation, also known as blown-in insulation, refers to the process by which insulation is added to stud or joist cavities. The machine mixes the material, then shoots it through a tube to create an evenly insulated surface.
Loose-fill insulation consists of millions of insulation pieces that create air pockets, which gives it a higher insulation power. Because the pieces are small and can be blown all over, it’s possible to cover areas that are difficult to reach. This method is a great thermal barrier.
Blown insulation is not like batt insulation. The R-value of blown insulation does not have a fixed value. Therefore, the more insulation you blow, the higher the R-value. To ensure that the R-value is correct, insulation contractors use an insulation ruler.

What is R-Value?
The industry standard for measuring insulation’s resistance to heat/cool air flowing through it is R-value. R-Value is a measure of the insulation’s resistance to heat/cool airflow. However, this is only one factor that will determine the effectiveness of insulation. This is the only aspect that you need to consider when deciding which insulation is right for you. The label will show you the R-value for your insulation. Your attic’s total R-value is equal to the sum of the R-value and the square footage of your crawl space. The R-values of batt insulation and blown insulation will vary depending on what material they are made from.
The primary function of insulation is to stop heat from moving. Conduction is the only way heat can move in and out of your home. However, there are four ways that heat can move in and out. Convection, air infiltration, and solar radiation are the other three ways to consider.
Because your home is built outdoors, environmental factors like humidity, temperature shifts, and wind can have a direct impact on indoor air quality.

Batt Insulation
Batt insulation comes with pre-cut panels in different sizes and R-values. The insulation is supplied directly by the manufacturer and follows general construction codes. Attic insulation batts consist of pieces of felt that are designed to fit between the frame of your home (16-24 inches in the center). You may need multiple layers depending on your climate to maximize energy savings.
To control moisture issues, some batt insulation is available with foil or paper facing. These insulation are called “faced” and “kraft”. Faced insulation is most commonly used in walls. The paper that absorbs moisture is often flammable so it is not allowed to be installed in attics, crawl spaces, or exposed walls.

Benefits Of Batt Insulation
Accessibility: Customers need easy access to all parts of their homes that are not finished. These are the most important areas. You will need to contact a professional if your HVAC or plumbing systems fail. It might take longer to fix if you don’t have easy access. Batts are more straightforward to install than blown insulation.
Simple to service: To repair an attic system, a professional must remove some insulation. This will allow for better visibility. It is impossible to restore insulation to its original condition. The service professional will often leave your attic with damaged or uneven insulation. It is possible that you will need to hire an expert to repair the damage. Batt insulation can be used to replace small sections of insulation rather than the entire wall.
Practical and durable: Batt insulation is more efficient than blown cellulose when it comes to thermal barriers. Loose-fill insulation won’t last the lifetime of the building. Blown-in insulation materials tend to settle and lose R-value over time. Blown cellulose will also absorb water and cause insulation pieces to bond. Batt insulation is more resistant to moisture, so it will last for longer.

Batt insulation is better for rodent activity. Batt insulation is more effective than blown-in insulation because rodents can dig into it, making it harder to locate them. Batt insulation can be used to detect rodents, and then replace the panel. To prevent rodents from entering your home, you can create a baiting station.

Insulation Removal
The loft insulation removal service uses a high-powered, custom-designed vacuum that is connected to a long hose. All the dust and debris will be collected safely and economically in a large-volume bag that is designed to collect the insulation material. The material is then placed outside the house. This technology makes it safer to eliminate blown-in insulation.
Doing this alone is dangerous for many homeowners. If you don’t have the right protection and skills, problems can arise. If rodents or pests have made your insulation, you could contract potentially fatal diseases by stirring up dust and fecal matter. Not everyone is aware of the dangers that old insulation may contain, such as asbestos or ceramic products. These substances can make it very dangerous to use without proper protection. It is common for blown-in insulation material to be much larger than the beams of your ceiling. This makes it difficult to see where you are going. It is tempting to remove the fill or batt yourself but there is a real risk of causing damage, such as accidentally stepping through your ceiling.

We can remove all types of insulation
Step one of our integrated attic-cleaning system is to remove attic insulation. It is possible to have your attic’s insulation checked and possibly replaced if it has become too old or damaged. Old insulation in your attic can lead to high electricity bills and inefficiency. Dirty attic insulation could be the result of rodents or birds that have polluted the insulation material. This can lead to a poor home. To maximize your home’s safety and efficiency, remove loft insulation if you find yourself in one of these situations.
